Lizard and Kiwi material research

I really want to work with wire and beads so I started with a lizard which is very popular in South Africa and is sold as a souvenir so has traveled the world. They are usually installed in houses or placed in gardens for decoration.

Step one: Make a wire out line (2D)

Step 2: Make the shape 3D by adding in more wire to shape it out.

Step 3: Use a thinner wire and start putting on the beads (this takes the longest time depending on patterns and colour choice.) Start on one end and work your way to the other going around the object. The lizard has wire on its belly with no beads to save beads and time since no one sees that part of it. The Kiwi has beads the whole way round.

Last step: finish wrapping the beads around the wire structure:
